Today was entry day for The Rebel and Scatman is #2 in a field of 13. Mike is doing a live interview with TVG Friday morning 11:30 Louisville time with Matt Carothers. On Saturday Mike will be on the OTB Radio show as well. Busy and exciting time for the O’ Grady’s and all associated with MEL Racing.

February Wrap Up

February was a mixed month. We had two good wins at Oaklawn Park and a few good seconds and thirds. PHANTOM FURY ran a good second in the WEBN Stakes at Turfway Park early in the month. SCATMAN ran a great second in the Southwest Grade III Stakes $250,000 and three year old filly SWEETNESSNGOODNESS finished 2nd in the 34th running of The Valdale Stakes at Turfway Park. We also hadGOODNESSGRACIOUSME win a $42,000 allowance race at Oaklawn Park helping to push our yearly earnings over $186,000.

On the farm we have seven new residents with various mares giving birth to four fillies and three colts so far. We also have our first mare pronounced in foal for 2013. Things are moving along!

We had some pretty severe storms roll though town this afternoon into the evening, but everyone is still safe in their barns and fields. Once the storm was gone, this beauty was hanging over the fields. Summer’s just around the bend…
