Winner Winner Double Chicken Dinner

We won two races today at Indiana Grand. The first was CANDY POP (non2 for $15,000). We just claimed her when she ran last for $7500. Congrats to owner John Stogsdill for doubling his money and getting the winning purse as well!

The second race was won by the homebred AFT. It was his third win in a row out of four starts for the  year. We gave AFT a year off because he had an issue. Obviously the  year did him good. I wonder if a year vacation would do me good?

Our goal at the beginning of the meet was 25 wins and we are now at 27 wins. Purse money goal was one million and we are not there yet but getting closer.

Trivia: The 2nd through the 7th race was won by the #7 at Indiana Grand today!

Brickyard Stakes Winner

The stable had a good day yesterday. MISTER POLLARD won the Brickyard Stake for $85,000 added. It was his first win of the year which took him over $438,000 in career earnings. This has moved him into 3rd position for most money won in horses we have bred putting him behind Dreamin Big ($602,350) and Mor Chances ($521,208). Congratulations to owners Jim and Scott Farrar, Falcon Racing Stable (Michael Johnson) and Penny Lauer.

Winner Times Three

The stable had a couple of good days. We ran three and won three at Indiana Grand. LADY MOLLY won for owner and breeder Jim Edgar. EYESONTHELADY won for owner/breeder Jerry Merritt and Penny Lauer. And today homebred AFT won for Penny Lauer. AFT won back to back races taking him over $100,000 in earnings to date. This takes the stable to 31 wins and over $700,000 in earnings for the year. With some luck, we may still hit a million in earnings.

We are in the last five weeks at Indiana Grand and next week Keeneland starts. We need to start thinking of getting some horses for Hot Springs this winter.

Two more days of the Keeneland Yearling Sales in case you hit the lottery today!

2014 Indiana Breeder of the Year

We attended the TOBA luncheon and dinner in Lexington at the beautiful Hill N Dale Farm on Friday where we were presented with this beautiful trophy. We are honored and feel very lucky to  have won this award for the third time. Our win as the 2014 Indiana Breeder of the Year was mostly due to MISTER POLLARD who won 2014 Indiana Horse of the Year. We did have a couple other home bred stake performers as well (Hoosier Neighbor, Dreamin Big).
