Our first two year old winner of 2017 (OBSOLETE) took a trip over the border to Woodbine this weekend to run in the $100,000 My Dear Stakes. She ran a very respectable third place just beaten 3/4 of a length for second.

Whistle Stop wins the Hoosier Breeders Sophomore Fillies Stakes
Pretty Good Week
Between Derby Day and Mother’s Day we won 4 races this week. We started on Derby Day with a Stakes win at Belterra Park with CAKE POP. Then on to Indiana Grand with EVADER who won an allowance race. (His next start will be May 24th in the Sagamore Stake for Indiana Sired horses.) We went back to Belterra Park winning with RUN ALONG on the 12th. Yesterday TEQUILA AND SALT won first time out after 7 months off. We also ran our second two year old of the year FORTY NIGHTS (at Belmont Park in New York) and she finished a really nice third place. Pretty exciting week.
We have moved into the top 200 on the Trainers list in North America…money wise with over $348,151 in earnings to date.
Hopefully, we will keep moving up.
Double Winners over the Weekend
These two mares are mothers of the weekend winners. HEY THERE CUPCAKE is the chestnut and mother of Cake Pop who won The $75,000 Tall Stacks Stake at Belterra Park on Saturday. The other mare is PRIZE WINNER and is the mother of our first 2 yr old starter and winner of 2017. Obsolete won a Maiden Special at Indiana Grand on Friday and is the first foal of this mare.
Not the Derby but a great Stakes Win for Cake Pop
Cake Pop won The $75,000 Tall Stack Stakes yesterday at Belterra Park. “A piece of Cake” (I heard someone next to me remark) Another great day in racing for the Lauer Barn. The three year old homebred colt out of Hey There Cupcake paid $13.00 $6.80 $4.20
