Update from a friend who knows

FYI.  Churchill Downs has removed all the old box televisions outside on the third floor.  Also, last week, CD finally put in 90-inch high-definition flat screens in the main simulcast center, replacing the old projector screens which were almost invisible in recent years.  New Bose speakers installed throughout the entire stands — ground floor bleachers up to the third floor beams (where tvs were) and ceiling.

Indiana Breeder Awards

We attended the Indiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association awards dinner over the weekend as we had four horses that had been nominated. We came home with two awards. One was for DREAMIN’ BIG who won the 2013 Champion Older Mare Indiana Bred for the second year in a row. The other was for JOINT TENANT who won the 2013 Champion 3 Year Old Indiana Colt Sired division. Earlier in 2013 we were honored as the 2012 Indiana Breeder of the Year , which is the third trophy in this photo.

It was a very nice dinner held at the newly named Indiana Grand Racing and Casino (formerly Indiana Downs) and we are grateful for the awards and want to thank ITOBA.

TWO YEARS OLDS OF 2013

We started in January of 2013 with fourteen Two Year Olds and acquired an additional two during the summer. In June we knew four of them were not going to run until they were three. We ran the remaining twelve of the sixteen with two of the twelve only making one start. Of the remaining ten, five broke their maidens (four in maiden special) and one (MISTER POLLARD) winning and placing in Stakes Races with earnings of $128,584 and is one of the leading contenders for Indiana Bred Two Year Old Colt for 2013.  The total earnings for the 2013 Two Year Olds were $294,684. We have higher hopes for them as next years three year olds.
