Buckeye Blues………..

My beloved Buckeye’s took it on the chin last night (or got outplayed). And then my sister told me a kid from my hometown of Hamilton Ohio plays for Michigan State and is a linebacker and made a big play on Miller. Added a little salt in the wound.

They totally got outplayed in most of the first half, got themselves back in and then I fell asleep and they lost. Games last to long now. To many commercials.
Now they are going to the Orange Bowl against Clemson. Kind of anti climatic. I was hoping they would play an SEC team like Alabama or Missouri, just to see how they would play. I think they would be the underdog to either team.
I do think the season played out right as I think the two best teams are in the championship game, (Auburn and Florida State).
Now we can speculate what coaches are getting fired, or moving up and who gets the Texas job.
The stable is at 45 wins and purse earnings over $1.3 million. We would love to get to 50 but the weather man has not been cooperating.

DREAMIN BIG wins BIG!

From Turfway Park’s recap of her race, found here:

“A multiple stakes winner, Dreamin Big is a 5-year-old daughter of Pure Prize out of the Roar mare Hush U Dreamer.  She was bred in Indiana by Mike and Penny Lauer and has been trained by Mike Lauer throughout her career.  Dreamin Big’s record stands now at 10-10-2 from 26 starts for earnings of $522,024, an impressive per-start average of $20,078.”

What a great way to kick off the snowy racing season!

Indiana Downs Meet Ends

The Indiana Downs meet has come to a close for 2013, with the stable earning over one million in purse money and garnishing 29 wins.

On Saturday we won a maiden claiming $30,000 for a $24,000 purse. The same race at Keeneland this week has a purse of $19,000, five thousand less than Indiana.

Maiden Special races at Hot Springs this winter will be $55,000. We need to stock the barn.
