The stable went over $800,000 in earnings for the year. We are behind the last two years, but that happens. We still have 90 days to catch up. We will definitely go over a million this year with the horses we have. We hope to get some new ones to help boost it up even further.
We won a race at Indiana Grand today with homebred DYNAMITE STICK for owners Jack Danehy, Barry Ward, Terry Ward and Penny Lauer.
I went to the last day of the Kentucky Downs meet in Franklin, Kentucky with JANE’S HEIR and SNEAKIN AWAY finishing 4th and 2nd respectively. On the way down I stopped at the CorvetteMuseum in Bowling Green. The museum is entirely about the Corvette (and a little about the sink hole). It is quite unique how the building is completely in tact other than the sink hole in the middle of the building. Interesting. Just a little side trip for the day. I did have lunch at the Boyce General Store in Boyce, Kentucky. I enjoyed a Kentucky Fried Round Steak Sandwich with a side of Chocolate Chip Cookie. I could have had a moon pie (as I was in Moon Pie country), but went for the homemade cookie instead. Since the races are on central time, we didn’t get finished until right before dark. It is very much a county fair atmosphere. If you are ever in the neighborhood in the month of September you can tailgate and bring in your own liquor.
Tomorrow back to Indiana Grand.
How do you find these places off the beaten path to eat? Congrats on the good month of racing.
